About & Bandhavgarh

Bandhavgarh situated in Central India in Madhya Pradesh is known for the incredible thrill of wildlife holidays in India. Owing to the highest density of population of the tigers, The Bandhavgarh National Park has earned the reputation of being the best places to observe tigers in their natural habitat. Spread over 105 sq. km., the Bandhavgarh is one of the best Tiger Reserves in the country as the well as the world. The favorite resident Royal Bengal Tigers guarantees an exciting wildlife tour in India. Moreover, the white tiger, a rare breed was first found here and if luck favors one can spot one here!

Snuggled in the Vindya Hills, the lush terrain is home to flourishing biodiversity. The natural abundance was the reason that it was formerly the hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Rewa and with time became the sanctuary of the hunted beasts. The evidence of the royal past is still found is the form of spectacular ruins of a huge hilltop fort. Towering over 800 meters above the forest, the fort is a must-visit attraction. A visit to the fortress teaches a lesson on the natural way of life as even the mightiest structures lay to waste by nature. Also, the views are amazing!

The Bandhavgarh sanctuary has lush cover of Sal Forest, expanses of grassland and bamboo in the north dotted with rugged rocks, spots of water reserves, swamps and more. Due to the fact that the national park covers an arid region, water is always attractive to wildlife, therefore easily the pools and watering holes are the best spots to sight the wildlife. Although Tigers are the star attraction, the list of other mammals and birds is equally impressive. The list of birds include species such as Grey-headed Fishing Eagle, Plumheaded Parakeet, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Greater Racket-tailed Drongo and Asian. Other species also found include; Chinkara, Chowsinga, Wild Boar, Sambar, Muntjac and Nilgai.

To enter the wilderness and view the dwellers of Bandhavgarh has both options of Jeep safaris as well as elephant safaris. Bird watching is also a popular wildlife tour in Bandhavgarh.

Stay at the wildlife resorts of Bandhavgarh make the visit all the more special, as you disconnect from the world and spend time amid natural bliss. The National park stays open from 15th of October to the 30thof June. While winter season is the absolute favorite time to go wildlife viewing for the pleasant weather, the summer season has more chances of spotting tigers.
