The Indian Medical e-Visa is valid for entry through 26 designated Airports (i.e. Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi & Vishakhapatnam) and 5 designated seaports (i.e. Cochin, Goa, Mangalore, Mumbai, Chennai). However, travelers can exit from any of the authorized Immigration Check Posts (ICPs) in India.

Validity of visa and the extension of visa

Medical eVisa can be extended further for a year by the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or the State Government if the patient shows the medical certificate or if the same is advised by recognized/reputed/specialized medical institutions of India. If extension is required after this also the Ministry of Affairs has the power to do this on recommendation of Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or the State Government, assisted by correct medical papers. The same procedure will be applicable for the attendant who is travelling under Medical Attendant Visa with the patient.

1. The Indian Posts/Mission examines the applicant’s medical papers carefully to determine the authentic reasons for medical treatment.
2. Authorities will investigate that the applicant (patient) has sought initial medical assistance in the country of his residence or country of origin.
