By Air
From Darjeeling, there are two airports to choose. The Bagdogra International Airport is 90 km away while the newly-opened Pakyong Airport in Gangtok is at a distance of around 80 km. Bagdogra is connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati and Kolkata by regular flights and even flights from Bhutan and Thailand. Services for Gangtok are available from Delhi.
By Rail
New Jalpaiguri is the nearest mainline railhead for Darjeeling. New Jalpaiguri is connected to Delhi and Kolkata by regular superfast trains. Also, it is from New Jalpaiguri, that the UNESCO World Heritage toy train starts its picturesque journey to Darjeeling.
By Road
Darjeeling is the gateway to the North East India. The charming hill town is 90 km from Bagdogra, and a little over a 100 km each from Gangtok and Kalimpong. It is also well connected to the other Eastern Hill-stations.
