Arrive in Delhi early in the morning. Meet, greet and assist on arrival and transfer to the domestic terminal to connect the flight G8 - a departure in Delhi 05:45 hours and arrival at Leh in 07:10 hours. Leh, the capital of the kingdom of Ladakh is a dream destination of many, especially adventure enthusiasts. The high-altitude cold desert is home to the remains of the ancient kingdom as well as the last remaining populations of Tibetan Buddhists. Arrival in Leh and assistance and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to acclimatize. The high altitude of 3500 meters and the low-oxygen air requires the body some adjustment to the conditions. In the late afternoon, choose a walk through the Leh Market. The market stands in the shadows of Leh Palace that dominates the skyline. The stores are distinctly window-dressed and each is a head-turner letting visitors pause and ponder at each step. In fact, everywhere you cast a glance, a bargain sits pretty. Sidewalks too are filled with stalls of semi-precious stones, an assortment of jewelry and plethora of reproduced and some genuine antiques, all translating in to perfect souvenirs for the burgeoning numbers that visit Leh during the tourist season. The sidewalks are lined with women in traditional Ladakhi dress selling fresh vegetables which is a luxury as the producing months are short and nothing is available in harsh winters. Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner
Take an early morning excursion to visit Thikse Gompa at sunrise. The Tibetan Buddhist monastery of Thiksey is of the Yellow Hat (Gelugpa) sect. Located on top of a hill at an altitude of 3,600 metres (11,800 ft) in the Indus valley, it is approximately 19 kilometres east of Leh. Resembling the Potala Palace in Lhasa of Tibet, it is the largest gompa in central Ladakh. The 12-storey complex and houses many items of Buddhist art such as stupas, statues, thangkas, wall paintings, and swords. The highlight is the Maitreya (future Buddha) Temple established by the 14th Dalai Lama in the 1970s. The 15 metres (49 ft) high statue is the largest in Ladakh. The monks assemble before sunrise in the main prayer hall to participate in the early morning rituals. The prayer rituals are conducted by the head monks with Lamas following with musical instruments including drums and gongs. Breakfast will be provided in a local nearby restaurant. After breakfast, take a two-hour walk to Shey village and Gompa. Shey was the ancient capital of Ladakh and even after Sengey Namgyal built the more imposing palace at Leh, the kings continued to regard Shey, as their real home. The importance which was attached to Shey - the seat of Ladakh's heartland - is attested by the enormous number of Chorten about the village, particularly around the palace complex and barren plain to the north of the road. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon take a walk up to Leh Palace. Leh Palace overlooks the Ladakhi Himalayan town of Leh, modeled on the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. The palace was built by King Sengge Namgyal in the 17th century but was later abandoned when Dogra forces took control of Ladakh in the mid-19th century. The royal family moved to Stok Palace. Later, continue to Shanti Stupa, a Buddhist white-domed stupa (chorten) on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district, Ladakh. It was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura. The Shanti Stupa holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama himself. The stupa has become a tourist attraction not only due to its religious significance but also due to its location which provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. After Breakfast at the hotel leave Leh for Nubra Valley passing through Horzey & Gangles Village. The road rises to reach Khardungla Pass (5602 Mts.) the world's highest Motorable road & enjoy the landscape & the beautiful bird's eye view of the Leh town. Another 35 Kms drive brings you to Khalsar at Shyok Valley, from where you have awe inspiring views of the Valley. The road after crossing Khalsar Bridge at Shyok River enters Nubra Valley & then proceeds along the Nubra River to arrive in the afternoon at Tegar or Kyegar as locally called. On arrival check-in at Hunder Camp or alternately at a local hotel. Afternoon drive a few kilometers to visit Panamik Hot Springs, rich in Sulphur contents & believed to have medicinal benefits. After breakfast at the camp visit Deskit, the HQ town of Nubra Valley. Deskit can be approached by driving parallel to Shyok River for 5 Kms. From the Historical & Tourist point of view, Deskit is famous for 515 years old Buddhist Monastery, magnificently situated on a hilltop, facing the entire Valley. At Hunder, you may see a few double-humped, hairy and Bactrian Camels. A short camel ride is very much possible here. Also visit Samstenling Monastery, next to the road at Sumur, which is 265 years old. Meals – Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overnight at the Camp.

This gorge would open just prior to moving up through Hunder Bridge. From here, you can get a spectacular view of one of the highest peaks here, Saser Kangri that rises to over 7,600 meters. After breakfast at camp a two hour walk in the gorge leads us to the Wachan village crossing. From here the trail climbs up and leads us up to the village of Dok yongma from where the trail to the village Hunder Dok is well defined and passes through spectacular lush green barely fields. Hundar Dok is almost a hidden Village and nobody would realize that such a big Village could exist somewhere inside when you start trekking. The narrow Nubra gorge just opens up to this massive Village with farm fields of barley, wheat and potatoes. There is a path that runs through the middle of the Village dividing the Village and the farm fields into 2 halves. One of the houses mans a DSPT phone connection that could be used for making calls. Meals – Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overnight at the Tents.

Start with walk following a small stream leading out of the Village. The trail leads us to the junction of the Thanglasgo valley and the Snui Sumdo valleys. Following a small stream in the Thanglasgo valley we gradually climb up to the Thanglasgo, our destination for the day. Thanglasgo also serves as the grazing grounds for all the cattle(Yak, Sheep, Goat) from Hundar Dok and Wachan. There are 2 big Shepherd’s settlements here. We camp a little ahead of these settlements. Meals – Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overnight at the Tents.

Today we start quite early in the morning as we will cross the Lasermo Pass (5400m). The top of Lasermo pass offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, the Indus valley and the Shayok Valley. The trail from the pass towards our camp passes rough moraines for an hour and a half. It is important to start early, as the ponies must cross the glacier before midday in order to avoid difficulties arising from snow and ice melting. Meals – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
